Patio Pond
Our main show pond

This is it, the cream of the crop. 6800 gallons, 7 feet deep, concrete bottom block walls with a painted on epoxy coating, and heated. This pond is in our main patio and houses our best personal Koi.

The flagstone around the pond it yet to be finished, some day I hope.

This is our main Filter House, that houses the filtration for both the Patio Pond and the Watergarden.
It's 10 by 20, insulated and heated.

When entering the filter house the Patio Pond filtration is on the right, the Watergarden Filtration is on the left.

Water from the two 4" bottom drains enteres two Cetus Sieves, one for each bottom drain.

Water is drawn from the two Cetus Sieves with two Evolution ES 8500 pumps and is pumped to the Shower. These two pumps at 4 feet of head are delivering almopst 10.000 gph through the shower.

The new shower, with "High Desert Koi Ponds" fiberglass shower trays.

Each tray holds 5 cubic feet of feather rock.

The outlet of the shower goes through a 6" "Foam Extractor". The reaction in the shower will break down the excess protiens (DOCs) and the extractor collects and removes it.

Three 100 gallon "High Desert Koi Ponds" Sand/Gravel filters in place. Water from the skimmer feeds a Evolution ES 8500 pump which inturn feeds the three S/G filters. The three S/G filters feed the under water TPR returns. Two S/G filters have 50 watt Savio UVs, and the third has a Coates 5.5 KW heater.

And what good filter house wouldn't be complete with out a wash area.

UPDATE 7/1/09
