Our Personal Ponds

We have two ponds for our own fish. A 12,000 gallon liner water garden, heavily stocked with Pond plants and several Water Lily's, Wakin's and Sarassa Goldfish, and a 7,000 gallon concrete pond with our show winning personal Koi.

The Watergarden

Pictured below are some assorted pictures of the Water Garden, both our ponds are a continuous"Work in Progress", ever changing as we develop new products. These pictures were taking in the spring before the Water Lily's reached full growth.

The Koi Pond

Pictured below is our 7,000 gallon Koi Pond. This is a concrete block pond sealed with "Pond Shield". It is almost 7 feet deep, two Bottom Drains, three TPR's from the BD circuit, and the waterfall from the skimmer/shower circuit. It is also heated with a 5.5 KW electric heater. Flagstone will be installed around the pond edge spring 2008, and it is our dreams that someday enclose this pond in a passive solar Sunroom.

The Filter house

Last fall we built a new building over the filtration. it's 10 by 20

inside shots

All of our filtration is DIY, featuring two 500 gallon Settlement Tanks, four 100 gallon Fluid bed Filters, four Evolution Pumps, five 100 gallon Sand/Gravel filters, and a four tray Shower flowing about 9,000 gph. The main show pond is also heated.

New Sarassa Pond

This spring we built a new Sarassa Goldfish Display pond. it's about 2000 gallons and filtered by a 100 gallon settlement tank, Evolution 2500 pump, and 100 gallon Sand/Gravel filter.

Our Ponds Today

A long ways to go yet. Lots of flagstone to go down yet, then landscaping and lawn.
